Sunday Random!

I called my grandma yesterday. It was really sweet hearing her voice since we don't talk too often , because of distance and we all know how the networks are in very small towns sometimes. She went down the usual terrain of talk.

"Joicee, don't follow people. Don't keep bad company, be like your mother, she finished her schooling, got married and had you people"

I love her.

It got me thinking though, will my mother be able to say the same about me to my children in the future. I hope so.

There was fabulous report on the nigerian music industry on CNN's Inside Africa, something positve and inspiring at last, goodness knows it is about time.

I am absolutely loving The No 1 Ladies Detective. I am not a t.v person, but I am already smitten with this miniseries. It shows on HBO in the states and also on the BBC in the U.K. With the BBC iplayer on the internet, you can watch whole episodes incase you missed it. Jill Scott stars as Mma Precious Ramotswe, a private detective. Her performance is stunning but it is not just that, it is the music, the scenery of Africa....... ooohh I could go on and on. Go see it.

I have successfully finished exams that totally kicked my butt for the past 6months. I feel quite overwhelmed by it all and I am really thankful.

I came across this gem whilst snoopping around AOL Black voices a couple of months ago. Ledisi Anibade Young is a jazz/soul musician from New Orleans. If you are into Jill Scott then you´ll love her music. I especially love this song.
