Blood tests and what not

I got my blood tested today and just found out that I am really anemic. On one hand it did come as a shock to me, but on the another hand I knew I had found the answer to my predication. My blood test results explain the tiredness I have been feeling for a while. I just could not shake this feeling of lethargy off of me. There are times when I find myself yawning all throughout the day and feeling sleepy all the time, no matter how many hours I had spent sleeping.

Many people are walkng around with anemia and do not know this because the body adapts itself to this situation. It is better to be on the safe side and get your blood tested. I had a lightbulb moment reading the signs and symptons of iron deficiency anemia on wikipedia.

So tomorrow is a public holiday here in Germany. That means all shops are closed for the next two days. Well I did not know germans could horde so bad. I went to supermarket this evening to get some groceries, boy was I shocked. These folks had emptied the meat, bread, milk sections. The food stuff readily available were the veggies lol. Go figure!

I hope to make good use of this weekend...rest relax and study. Have a great weekend everyone!

Guess what I did immediately after reading your first sentence? I took my ferrous gluconate pills! I'm anemic too and so bad about taking my pills. I hope your doc is working with you to get your levels where they should be!

I guess you now know a lot about what foods will help you with your iron levels so all the best as you get that under control. You're very right that many people don't know what conditions they have lurking within...I'm glad you went to the doc!

@Afrobabe
3 months is enough time to get your levels up.. Im sure you will see and feel the change.

@Maxi
I wasn´t...I´ve never attended one ..the whole oktoberfest thing just looks to me like a big excuse drink beer and eat weisswurst and drink more beer!Hope I am wrong.

@GNG
I´m glad the post prompted you to take your pills lol. I don´t like taking pills as well but if it is necessary then I have no choice.

Yeah 3 months should be enough...

But after 2 weeks of taking the pills the pains in my legs stopped...so for that fact alone I am sticking to the treatment...
