According to him, there is a lot of money to made in the Nigeria especially in the welfare sector-Hotels, catering services, hospitals, medical laboratories etc. I would like to know more from people presently residing in Naija about their take on this. He is doing very well and I am extremely happy for him. It also helps to keep my hope of returning and starting up a business back home alive.
I have decided to do more photography and practice my amateur skills on any scapegoat I came across so I got myself this baby-a vintage nikon F401 film camera. We will see how that will work out.

I am currently reading Doris Lessing's The golden notebook that won the nobel prize for literature in 2007. I am at the begining and I am really trying to enjoy this book. Wish me luck.

Have a fabulous weekend.

Joicee,
i do hear that there is a lot of money to be made in Nigeria. The point be say Nigerians at home will soon( if they haven`t started) be pissed at Nigerians abroad for coming back home and taking the"better" job openings. I know like three families now that move back to Nigeria. Hopefully when i graduate finish, these opportunity go still dey...
Nice blog....first time here.
Of course there are opportunites.. they just may not be waiting there ot be cherry picked though.. SOme scouting and all that may be required..
Good luck with the photography stuff you've got going on*
Aww that was a fun post you made, l love it. Naija la wa ni o, that's the place to be as people say, I am Yankee chick so I can't answer the question but am guessing the hotel industry as well as service sector is the place to be, my key for any successful Naija business entrepreneur is to be skilled, different and understand the culture of the Nigerian people to blend in your own unique business ideas.
Have a great weekend. Cheers.
Good luck with the book.. & with practising your amateur skills..
You can't despise humble beginnings... But then a Nikon N401 isn't exactly a beginning..
Oooh, sexy camera alert! I have a DSLR and I'm all thumbs! Helllp! :)
When I was in Nigeria late last year, I remember thinking that if I were to move back to Nigeria (due to marrying a man based in Naija, most likely), I could think of some businesses that I could start. I think Nigeria is very open to entrepreneurs who have as their primary goal providing a service, a quality service (vs. making money). If you provide a good service, the money will follow, so focus on providing a service well.
@chayoma
Girl thank you...I feel you on the competition that may be brewing btw homebased naijas and the returnees, but at the end of the day people bringing their skills back home can only be a good thing.
@Danny BaGucci

Hey girl...true talk, Naija is truly the place to be, Girl, you should see my friend that has just relocated, the joy that emanates from him...I know it is not easy at all at first but in most cases
it is totally worth it.Thanks for stopping by.. have a great weekend.
@RocNaija
Thank you..Yes o we won't despise humble beginings lol.
@GNG
Thank you so much for your emphasis on QUALITY services.There are people who don't even give much thought to the that. There is a lack of quality control in most sectors and this is another area where one could start up a business venture. Have a fabulous weekend.
Your camera looks great! I really admire you photographers, talent indeed!
@Original Mgbeke
